Taipale Marine — Privacy Policy

1. Controller

2. The app

Taipale Marine relates to marine conditions and an anchor alarm. It uses location (including background for the anchor alarm), notifications, and audio. Weather and marine data are fetched from public sources (e.g. Finnish Meteorological Institute open data).

3. Data processed

On device (AsyncStorage etc.): • vessel / favourite settings • units and app settings • Pro state as a local flag (no store billing SDK found in current code) Location: • fine / coarse location • background location for the anchor alarm (with permission) Network: • weather and marine condition requests to public APIs (based on location)

4. What is not collected (current build)

The current codebase does not show: • Firebase • advertising • microphone / speech use • a Taipale user account • an In-App Purchase SDK (Pro is a local flag)

5. Purposes

Location and weather are used to show marine conditions and for the anchor alarm. Local settings personalise the app.

6. Deletion

Uninstall the app or clear its data. Revoke location permissions in system settings if you no longer use background alerts. More: https://taipaleit.fi/en/apps/taipale-marine/data-deletion
