VASTE — Privacy Policy

This notice describes how VASTE processes data, based on the app code and in-app policy.

1. Controller

2. The app

VASTE is a gym training journal / workout coach (iOS: fi.taipale.vaste, Android/Wear: fi.vaste). No user account is required. Optional features: AirPods motion, Apple Watch companion, and Apple Health import/export (off by default).

3. Data processed

On device (UserDefaults / local files): • training profile and goals • programmes, weights, sets, reps, rest timers • workout history and personal records • in-progress workout state • technical Watch connectivity state Optional AirPods mode: motion data is processed on device for rep counting and a motion-path index (CoreMotion). Optional Apple Health (user-enabled): • import: workout type, time, duration, distance, active energy, average heart rate (summaries; up to ~90 days on first import) • export: type and duration of completed VASTE workouts Imported summaries are not turned into gym sets, loads or PRs.

4. Sharing and servers

VASTE does not include ad networks, tracking or analytics SDKs. Training data is not sent to the developer’s servers, sold or used for advertising. iPhone and Apple Watch may exchange workout state and control commands on-device.

5. Storage and backups

Data stays on the device. You can export workout history as JSON from the app and choose where to save it. Apple Health import copies and the export queue are stored in a separate local file protected while the device is locked (not included in the VASTE workout export).

6. Deletion

Uninstall the app to remove local training data. Also remove the Watch/Wear app if needed. Workouts exported to Apple Health are removed via Health. Imported copies can be cleared in VASTE’s Apple Health settings. More: https://taipaleit.fi/en/apps/vaste/data-deletion
